From July 26 to 27, the 8th National Virtual Geographic Environment Academic Conference, hosted by the Virtual Geographic Environment Professional Committee of the National Committee of China of the International Digital Earth Society and undertaken by the School of Civil Engineering and Surveying and Mapping Engineering of Jiangxi University of Technology, was successfully held in Ganzhou. The opening ceremony of the conference was presided over by Professor Lan Xiaoji, the director of the organizing committee of the congress and the president of our institute. The theme of this session is "red color+virtual geographic environment". The meeting was held online and offline, mainly offline. The meeting invited 8 famous experts at home and abroad, including Academician Guo Renzhong, to make theme reports, and 123 experts and scholars to make branch presentations. More than 300 experts, scholars and industry representatives from more than 50 universities and research institutes, including the Aerospace Information Innovation Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Peking University, Wuhan University, Nanjing Normal University and Fuzhou University, attended the meeting offline, with more than 100000 online participants.
